Each of the teams are handling their responsibilities well so far. As for bands, have any and all bands that want to play to contact Joe Ashizawa at 713-819-8095, or jyousuke03@yahoo.com. In contrast to the event many years ago, Make A Wish tends to keep many of these events at arm's length (I suspect the lawyers have gotten involved- liability) so it does not surprise me that its not on their website. The PSAs have been forwarded to me yesterday and will be going our promptly. Thanks for your concerns and help.nondisclosed_email@example.com (metrolax)Tue, 02 Oct 2007 21:11:24 +0000 Re: Make A Wish Lacrosse Classichttps://bgcla59.runboard.com/p31,from=rss#post31https://bgcla59.runboard.com/p31,from=rss#post31I think the Make A Wish Lacrosse Classic is a great idea and should be a lot of fun, and great exposure for our league and sport, but as of today we are 20 days away and I have heard very little to nothing about this anywhere. I understand that someone is supposed to be taking care of media coverage and getting the word out, but this event isn't even listed on Make A Wish's website.  Also, I like that each team is in charge of different things but this has caused a huge lack of communication problem. I have emailed multiple people about a band I confirmed to play at the event and no one has responded. Are they still playing? What equipment do they bring? What time do they play? What about the clinic that we are hosting before the game? Has everyone told their kids/ players about this? We really need to come together here in these last days and work together to make this a success. There are too many of us in the GCLA to have this be a failure. nondisclosed_email@example.com (Aglax12)Tue, 25 Sep 2007 19:36:59 +0000 Re: Make A Wish Lacrosse Classichttps://bgcla59.runboard.com/p30,from=rss#post30https://bgcla59.runboard.com/p30,from=rss#post30Matt- Corpus will be well-represented, and I'm trying to get as many NOLC guys as possible. It should be a fun mix. SHSU was invited to bring players as well, but they're going LSA this fall. We're working on some expansion projects all the time, so next year we might see another team or two bringing players. Should be fun!nondisclosed_email@example.com (metrolax)Tue, 18 Sep 2007 21:55:42 +0000 Re: Make A Wish Lacrosse Classichttps://bgcla59.runboard.com/p29,from=rss#post29https://bgcla59.runboard.com/p29,from=rss#post29The GCLA vs. the at-large allstars...Really? In the interest of a good show I hope corpus and new orleans are bringing all-stars as well. Is it just the Metro and southside all stars? Personally I would like to see an even match especially since it is all for charity, and I dont think GCLA vs Merto/Southside is even close to an even match. People get bored during blowouts, is that any way to attract people to the sport? nondisclosed_email@example.com (Matt Walton)Wed, 12 Sep 2007 10:01:28 +0000 Re: Make A Wish Lacrosse Classichttps://bgcla59.runboard.com/p28,from=rss#post28https://bgcla59.runboard.com/p28,from=rss#post28Each GCLA team will have roughly equal represntation, and each teams' player/reps are chosen by the teams themselves in the manner they choose. This is most in keeping with the "spirit" of the GCLA. We would love volunteers of any kind. Email me at metrolax@yahoo.com when you have the chance and I'll be happy to go over various things with you. The event itself is a league-wide effort, hence the need to get every team excited about being involved- rather than have the "all-star" teams dominated by a relative few number of teams. Thanks for posting!nondisclosed_email@example.com (metrolax)Tue, 05 Jun 2007 08:50:49 +0000 Re: Make A Wish Lacrosse Classichttps://bgcla59.runboard.com/p27,from=rss#post27https://bgcla59.runboard.com/p27,from=rss#post27Who hosts/ is in charge of this event and how can people volunteer to help coordinate activities? Also, how are the All-Star teams chosen? My vote is a GCLA All-Star team VS the GCLA Champs.nondisclosed_email@example.com (Aglax12)Tue, 05 Jun 2007 04:06:27 +0000 Make A Wish Lacrosse Classichttps://bgcla59.runboard.com/p26,from=rss#post26https://bgcla59.runboard.com/p26,from=rss#post26It looks like the 2007 Make A Wish Lacrosse Classic will be October 12th at Crusader Stadium on the campus of Strake Jesuit College Prep in Houston. This will be a GCLA Fall All-Star Game and Music Festival, and proceeds will go to the Make A Wish Foundation. Should be a great time!nondisclosed_email@example.com (metrolax)Sat, 21 Apr 2007 21:57:28 +0000
